Forgetting You

Forgetting you
feels like falling into bed after a long day,
exhausting yet relieving.
You slip from my mind as smoothly as dreams slip in,
taking over for the night.
But just like dreams,
forgetting you has its end.
Jerking me awake from this bliss
where I can't remember the end.
The end though doesn't hurt nearly as bad as remembering the start.
or the during.
Wide awake with memories of kisses,
of magical words,
placed so perfectly on my yearning heart
after so many boys as placed them on my body.
The words ring through my ears,
fill my mind,
poison my veins,
until they reach my heart.
Slowly filling it with this fatal poison called love.
I try to close my eyes.
I try to shut it out.
I try to forget.
But forgetting you is like extracting the devil from a possessed soul.
It takes more will power than I can achieve after being beaten by your lies.
It takes someone willing to help, but I refuse to put my heart in another's hands.
Forgetting you feels like loving you,
tough,
exhausting,
hopeless,
aggravating,
but worth it.

Movie

She watched their love fold out
As if she was watching a movie.
In her mind the film was Oscar worthy.
Moving pictures capturing the swell of the ocean in her heart,
When he smiled at her.
A rush of excitement and childish tingles
Spreading from her lips to her toes
When he kissed her.
A laugh escaping those same lips
When he tickled her
As his fingers brushed along her ribcage,
A gasp erupting from her soul
As those hands hungrily groped her body
That she had hidden from so many others.
She watched as she gave her body and heart
Willingly,
Hesitantly,
To this boy.
She watched in terrifying anticipation,
To see if he would care for them.
She watched him kiss her heart,
Not with his lips but with eyes,
Taking in every broken and shattered piece,
As if it was the most beautiful piece of art in a museum.
She reached her hands out,
And took his heart into her palms,
Scars and all,
And whispered "i love you" with her soul.
Filled with hope that this movie would never end,
That the credits would never roll,
Showing who they used to be.
